The 4th Annual Meeting of the EU H2020 INTAQT project took place from 20 to 22 May 2025 in Frick, Switzerland. The event brought together 40 participants from across Europe. Over 2.5 days of dynamic workshops, interactive sessions and field visits, participants reflected on the project’s progress, shared scientific results, and collaborated to shape the next steps as the project approaches its conclusion in 2026.
On the first day of the meeting, progress, challenges, and key issues across the various Work Packages were presented, followed by a rich “result session” including 19 flash lectures organised into 4 sessions aligned with INTAQT’s four core objectives. In Session 1, results on milk and meat quality traits were presented and discussed according to farm intensification. Session 2 focused on the proposed modelling approaches linking farming practices to product quality traits, which were discussed and adopted by all participants. Session 3 explored tools developed for authentication of farming systems and prediction of intrinsic quality traits, as well as the ongoing development of the multicriteria scoring tool. Finally, Session 4 highlighted results from the living labs, designed to identify and test on-farm practices aimed at improving product qualities.
On the second day of the meeting, two interactive workshops were held. The first focused on defining and aligning publication strategies, as well as key actions for the dissemination and exploitation of project results. The second looked ahead, exploring opportunities beyond the INTAQT project. Finally, several informal working sessions—initiated by partners eager to make the most of their time in Frick—offered a valuable chance to collaborate on data processing. The day wrapped up with a plenary session during which the roadmap for the final year of the project was discussed and agreed upon.
This 4th annual meeting concluded with a ½ day field tour, including a visit to an interesting extensive organic beef farm, followed by a tour of FiBL’s facilities: the experimental organic dairy farm in Frick and the renowned DOK Trial consisting in a 45-year comparative study of organic and conventional cropping systems. A warm thank you to FiBL for hosting this inspiring event!
