Amadori company as INTAQT partner has made available to the project its chicken farms belonging to different rearing systems and its organization to support different research activities.

In particular, during these years Amadori have provided information about the different procedures adopted in its farms and abattoirs by sharing data within the INTAQT partners. This was a great opportunity to share practices with other companies and research institution involved in the project!

The collection of chicken meat samples was one of the most important activities carried out in the first part of the project. In fact, Amadori company has provided to the researchers of University of Bologna chicken meat obtained from 25 farms representative of 5 different rearing systems adopted in Italy. This activity was performed following the common protocols shared among the INTAQT partners. The collection of meat samples from the 25 Amadori chicken farms has requested one year of work and during this period the company was responsible for the frozen storage.

At the end of the sampling activity, Amadori has taken advantage of its logistic service to deliver the product to INRAE, which is the coordinator of the INTAQT project. This was fundamental to ensure a rapid and appropriate shipment of the products, and thus to maintain high quality standards of the meat samples. Several analyses, conducted in different laboratories of the INTAQT partners, are ongoing in order to assess the link between the intrinsic quality of chicken meat and the husbandry system.

The results obtained from this large-scale investigation will provide useful information for the Italian meat chicken production while also representing an important chance to build a network among research institutions and the principal European companies involved in livestock production.
