On 9 September 2026, the INTAQT project presented its latest research findings during a dedicated session at the 77th EAAP Annual Meeting in Hamburg, Germany. The session, entitled “’How does the diversity of European cattle and poultry livestock systems influence the quality of meat and milk, and the sustainability of farms?’ Key outcomes from the European INTAQT project”, brought together researchers and stakeholders to discuss how livestock production systems shape product quality, animal welfare and sustainability across Europe.

The session brought together researchers from across Europe to share key results on the links between livestock farming systems, animal welfare, product quality and sustainability. Presentations covered topics ranging from poultry and beef quality to dairy systems, food safety, animal quality of life, and innovative approaches for product authentication and quality assessment.

A particular focus was placed on how farming practices influence the intrinsic quality of meat and milk, while also addressing broader sustainability challenges and societal expectations. The session also showcased new tools and harmonised methodologies developed within INTAQT to support the assessment and authentication of livestock products.

The lively discussions highlighted the importance of adopting a holistic approach to food quality, bringing together scientific evidence on animal welfare, nutritional value, environmental sustainability and consumer trust under the INTAQT One Quality concept.
